The third Knives Out film, Wake Up Dead Man, begins shooting today, 10 June, with Daniel Craig reprising his role of private detective Benoit Blanc.

Writer/director Rian Johnson confirmed the start of principal photography with a photo on his X (formerly Twitter) page of Craig in character. Johnson also produces the Netflix film alongside longtime collaborator Ram Bergman.

Filming is based at a major UK studio; Production Intelligence subscribers have had access to details on that along with key UK HoD information since March this year; click here to request a free online demo.

As with previous Knives Out films, the third iteration has a super-starry cast on board: alongside Craig are: Andrew Scott, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Cailee Spaeny, Josh O’Connor, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, Thomas Haden Church and Daryl McCormack.

Johnson’s first Knives out film was released in 2019; considered an update of the classic murder mysteries of the 1950s, the director was said to have been inspired by his love of big-screen Agatha Christie adaptations and their A-list starry casts.
