WFTV opens door to 2024 mentoring scheme

WFTV Women in Film and Television UK (WFTV) has opened applications for its 2024 WFTV Four Nations Mentoring Scheme, with a deadline of 5pm on 11 September.

 

The WFTV team is seeking 41 mentees for the programme – 20 from England and seven each from Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland – from all disciplines across the film, television and digital media industry.

 

The Four Nations Mentoring Scheme is aimed at mid-career women working in film, television and the creative media who are looking to take the next big step in their career.

 

The scheme starts in January 2024 and runs for six months, during which time each of the participants are paired up with senior industry professionals for one-to-one mentoring alongside peer-to-peer training and bespoke career and personal development workshops.

 

WFTV CEO Katie Bailiff said: “The scheme is going from strength to strength and we’re delighted to be giving another cohort of mid-career women the network, tools and confidence to make the next step in their film and television careers.”

 

WFTV’s director of mentoring, Sarah Wright heads up the scheme is; she is an ICF-trained executive coach and former group director of acquisitions & Sky Cinema, UK and Ireland.

 

Wright said: “WFTV’s Four Nations Mentoring Scheme is truly career – and indeed life – changing for the amazing women who take part. I cannot wait to recruit our brand-new cohort for the 2024 scheme.”

 

She works alongside WFTV mentoring producers, Karen Kelly in Scotland, Hannah Corneck in Wales and Sarah McCaffrey in Northern Ireland. The England scheme is supported by BBC, Channel 4, Eon, Panalux and Panavision, Pinewood, Sara Putt Associates, UKTV and Women’s Network NBCUniversal. The schemes in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are supported by Netflix.
