Andrew Scott and Olivia Colman lead cast in story of Ian Charleson’s preparations for performing Hamlet at London’s National Theatre

Billie Piper, Johnny Flynn and Luke Thompson are among the cast joining Andrew Scott and Olivia Colman in Simon Stone’s Elsinore as the Studiocanal project begins filming in the UK.

Further additional cast include Monica Dolan, Juliet Stevenson, Joe Locke, Adeel Akhtar, Matthew Beard, David Dawson, Kadiff Kirwan, Dickie Beau and Peter Mullan.

Filming is taking place in locations across the UK and will reportedly shoot in Italy as well.

Elsinore follows the true story of actor Ian Charleson as he prepares to perform Hamlet at the National Theatre in London. Stephen Beresford penned the screenplay.

It is produced by Studiocanal, Lucky Red, Magnolia Mae Films and LD Entertainment. Studiocanal is distributing the film in a number of territories, including the UK and Ireland, as well as handling international sales.
