Sequence & Zodiak Get Renault In Gear

Sequence Post has secured a long-term post-production contract with the multi-platform Renault Channel. Produced by Zodiak Active, the branded content channel is commissioned annually by Publicis and distributed via platforms such as Sky. It is also hosted on Renault’;s own

Sequence first got involved in the channel when it did some work in 2010 for producer RDF, which has since been acquired by Zodiak. After working on some short-form production pieces, Sequence and Zodiak are now custom-designing an end-to-end tapeless, digital work flow for a raft of new series.

According to Sequence, key elements of the work flow involve ingesting all material to a permanently live Xsan system, automatically uploading all rushes to a streaming site where producers can view and log rushes over the web on iPads, working from cut to delivery in full resolution and then managing the file based broadcast delivery at the end of the pipe line, all under one roof.

A variety of long form factual documentaries and light entertainment formats are being produced for this year’;s channel, all of which will be looked after by the Sequence team and post supervised by Sequence’; head of post Ben Foakes. “We have been seeking out a long-form, long-term series contract for some time to compliment our regular short form work, creative editing and finishing,” says Foakes. β€œIt makes great business sense to have a steady stream of series work, especially when it can be handled so efficiently with all our innovative digital work flows. Our aim with this project is to streamline the entire process for Zodiak, taking out the pain of old school methods.”

In addition to the post production services supplied, Sequence Creative has also been drafted in to partner on some specialist short-form films covering the subject of the journey of electricity. The series of 5 x shorts will be exec produced by Theo Williams, produced by Kevin Chapman, creative directed and posted by Mike Fisher and will feature a combination of HD cinematography, bespoke plate shots, After Effects comps and archive footage dating back to the Edison era.
