Jason Statham wraps filming Levon’s Trade at UK studio
Jason Statham’s latest feature, Levon’s Trade, wraps filming today (31 May); the production has been based at Winnersh Film Studios.
The film, directed by David Ayer from Sylvester Stallone’s screenplay, is adapted from Chuck Dixon’s Levon Cade series of books.
Statham stars as Levon Cade, a legendary figure in the world of black ops whose attempts to go straight with a new career in construction are derailed when he is drawn into the hunt for a missing college student.
It was confirmed earlier this year that Winnersh Film Studios had entered administration, with trading impacted by the dual US strikes of 2023. The senior secured lender, SCIO-Fund SICAV-FIS, then took steps to stabilise the business, including appointing administrators, Interpath Advisory, in early April this year.
Nick Holloway, managing director at Interpath Advisory and joint administrator, said at the time: “The Companies will continue to operate as normal while we assess their position…The other legal entities within the Stage 50 group are not currently in administration and continue to trade as normal.”
It is hoped that a pathway can be found to keep the studios up and running. Greg Branch, director of SCIO-Fund SICAV-FIS and CIO at SCIO Capital, said at the time of the administration appointment: “We remain fully committed to Stage 50’s model and vision of creating high-quality, innovative spaces for television and film makers. Our priority is to stabilise the business and put in place a foundation upon which Winnersh Film Studios Ltd can move forward.”
