Imaginarium prepares to film Fungus the Bogeyman
Andy Serkis’ Imaginarium Studios, combined with Double Negative Visual Effects, are pioneering new 4 x 60 series Fungus the Bogeyman, announced earlier this year on Production Intelligence.
The show is set to include both live action and animated elements based on the family oriented picture book from British artist Raymond Briggs. The story revolves around malodorous monsters and unpredictable humans in an unorthodox world.
The series is penned by Tom MacRae (Doctor Who and Threesome) and will be directed by (Downton Abbey) Catherine Morshead.
Serkis started The Imaginarium Studios back in 2011, providing performance capture facilities for major budget features such as Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Films Animal Farm and The Bone Season are currently on the studios’ development slate, with Serkis also directing The Jungle Book: Origins, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Christian Bale, scheduled for release in 2017.
From 7 March, those following this project on Production Intelligence can see updates on Fungus the Bogeyman, including production manager, casting director, location manager and production designer. Â
