The Death of Robin Hood sees the outlaw badly injured, helped by a mysterious woman

Filming begins this week (w/c 10 February) at a Belfast studio on The Death of Robin Hood, starring Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer.

Michael Sarnoski directs from his own screenplay; the producers are Alexander Black for Lyrical Media alongside Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett for Ryder Picture Company. Lyrical’s Jon Rosenberg and Natalie Sellers executive produce with Rama Gottumukkala, Sarnoski and Jackman.

Little has been put out officially about the plot, but reports say it centres on a badly-injured Robin, wrestling with his last life of crime, who encounters a mysterious woman. Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe are among the supporting cast.

True Brit Entertainment acquired the UK rights last summer, with company founder Zygi Kamasa saying: “Our role in the industry is to champion British stories on a global stage but also to bring the best of British stories to audiences in the U.K.

“This movie is an important title for the British indie space with two major global stars in a film that shows a different take on a well-loved figure of English folklore. We are undoubtedly very excited to have it on our growing slate.”
