Filming gets underway next week (w/ 8 July) on a new heist thriller, Fuze, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Directed by David Mackenzie from a screenplay by Ben Hopkins, the contemporary, London-set feature centres on an unexploded WWII bomb uncovered on a building site, that subsequently becomes the cover for a daring robbery.

Gillian Berrie of Sigma Films produces – she founded the prodco with Mackenzie – alongside Callum Grant and Sebastian Raybaud.

“Tension is one of the purest emotions that cinema can create. I had the idea of combining all the high stakes of an unexploded bomb with that of a bank robbery — clashing these two genres to create as much pressure as possible — in a context that feels as real as possible,” Mackenzie said in an earlier statement. “Ben Hopkins took those ingredients and cooked up the compelling script that we are now taking into production.”

According to Variety, Theo James is also set to star.
