Producer Clare Batty becomes head of development at the All3Media production company

Criminal Record producer Clare Batty is one of three new senior hires at New Pictures, where she takes up the role of head of development.

The All3Media production company has also signed up Emma Parsons (previously freelance) as a production executive and Brendan Fairweather as senior legal and business affairs, who joins from Sister.

Batty had worked as head of development at Tod Productions, makers of the Apple TV+ drama Criminal Record; she developed and co-produced the eight-part thriller. As a development executive at Little Chick, House Productions and Sister, Batty worked with writers and producers including Abi Morgan on shows including The Split.

Willow Grylls, co-founder and CEO, New Pictures said: “As we continue to grow and broaden our slate and partnerships with broadcasters and streamers, I’m thrilled to welcome Clare, Brendan and Emma to the New Pictures team. Working with the best new and established talent is at the heart of what we do as a company, and their experience and creativity will help us make the most of the global opportunities we see for high quality drama content.”

New Pictures’ credits include The Long Shadow (ITV), Champion (BBC2 and Netflix), No Escape (Paramount+) and Dalgliesh (C5). The company has an exclusive deal with writer George Kay and his label Observatory Pictures, as well as a partnership with Thriker Films, run by Kit Harington and writer Daniel West.
