Channel 4 Signs Up Gok Wan
Channel 4 has commissioned a new 6 x 30 min series which will see Gok Wan showcase Chinese cooking.
Entitled Gok Cooks Chinese, the TV celeb and his father (Papa Wan) will explore “Chinese home cooking, healthy and quick meals devised by Gok himself, proving that he is master of the cleaver as well as the cleavage”
The series was ordered by Channel 4 Features Commissioning Editor Katie Boyd and will be produced by Optomen Television. It will be executive produced by Optomen MD Pat Llewellyn and Sue Murphy, who recently joined Optomen as Creative Director.
Pat Llewellyn said: “Gok’;s Chinese way of cooking feels incredibly modern – fresh ingredients cooked so quickly it makes 30 minute meals look like slow motion. Everyone loves eating Chinese food, but not many of us dare cook it at home – I’;m sure Gok will change that.”
