Broadcast reveals Best Places to Work winner
Big Brother indie Initial has topped Broadcast’s list of Best Places to Work in TV 2024, while post-house The Finish Line was named the best non-indie.
Forty-three other companies were also recognised in the list, which was compiled by the Workforce Research Group consultancy following rigorous surveys of management and workers at each of the companies.
The winners were revealed at a ceremony in central London this morning (Wednesday 24 January).
Initial, which is headed up by Katy Manly, was named best independent production company, while Fur Babies producers Wonderhood came second, with Ambulance indie Dragonfly in third.
The Finish Line was the highest placed non-production company on the list for the second year in row.
Dragonfly was also named as the Best Place to Work in TV for Work/Life Balance, while creative agency Red Bee Creative scooped an award for Best Communication and Workplace Culture.
Nolly indie Quay Street Productions, which is run by Nicola Shindler was named the Best Place to Work for Women, and animation studio Blue Zoo Productions took the title of Best Place to Work in TV for Gen Z.
The survey asks companies’ management about their firms’ pay and best practices, while employees shared their views on areas such as leadership and planning, training, development and resources, role satisfaction and work environment. Overall and individual company scores were then calculated – weighted in favour of the employees’ responses – and supplied by WRG to Broadcast.
