Lifted exec Ed Daggett and JamPot’s Jemima Rathbone join indie

Ant & Dec’s Mitre Studios has reinforced its ranks with the hire of Lifted exec Ed Daggett and JamPot Productions’ Jemima Rathbone.

Daggett becomes Mitre’s head of development for TV while Rathbone joins as senior executive producer for podcasts, as part of the indie’s ambition to develop content across broadcast, digital and emerging platforms.

Daggett, whose credits include working on My Mum, Your Dad, I’m A Celebrity… South Africa and upcoming ITV1 series The Neighbourhood, has also worked as senior producer on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

At Mitre Studios, he will be responsible for creating a pipeline of entertainment, fact ent and reality programming, spanning linear and streaming buyers in the UK and beyond.

Meanwhile, Rathbone will lead Mitre’s newly established podcasting team and oversee the creative and editorial development of Ant & Dec’s podcast Hanging Out With Ant & Dec. She will also steer the growth of audio-first content for Belta Box – the presenting pair’s nascent entertainment brand for digital formats and exploitation of existing content.

Rathbone has worked with established figures to bring them into the podcasting space, including Kathy Burke and Paloma Faith. At Jamie Laing’s JamPot Productions, she exec produced shows including NearlyWeds, and launched the celebrity interview podcasts Great Company and Paloma Faiths Mad, Sad and Bad.

On Daggett’s appointment, Mitre Studios’ creative director for TV Jack Shillaker said: “He brings a brilliant development mind, a fantastic track record of creating innovative ideas, and crucially, the ability to take a concept all the way from early development through to green light.”

Daggett added: “Ant and Dec’s drive to keep finding new ways to entertain big audiences, on any platform, makes Mitre an incredibly exciting place to be.”

Mitre’s head of digital and social content Jules McGill added: “Jemima is an incredibly talented creative who brings a huge amount of experience developing, launching and producing brilliant and creative shows.

“Jemima joining the team marks a significant step forward in our output and an exciting new chapter for Mitre Studios.”
