Cuckoo Song to be adapted for TV

The best-selling YA novel Cuckoo Song is to be adapted for the small screen by Catalyst Global Media.

Frances Hardinge”s book was published in 2014 and subsequently shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal.

The story is set in the 1920s and centres on Triss, a young girl who wakes up after an accident to find herself changing mysteriously and, with her family in danger, embarks on a quest to find the truth.

Cuckoo Song is planned as a 4 x 60, but is still some way off production as the writing process is not yet underway. PI subscribers should follow the project on our site as we will be updating as soon as there is more news.

Catalyst Global Media was founded in 2015 by producer Charlotte Walls, previously of Matador Pictures, alongside Al Hardiman and Gideon Lyons.

The team also worked on ITV”s feature length Peter & Wendy, which was filmed last year in Dorset and London and which starred Stanley Tucci as Hook.
