Recognising the best of Britain’s behind the scenes talent, the Production Guild Awards took place on 27 September marking the organisation’s 15th anniversary

Held in association with Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, the ceremony took place at The Grove, Hertfordshire with The Knowledge in attendance as one of the sponsors. Covering a range of specialties including assistant directing, production office and post-production, the event saw four individuals honoured for their outstanding work.

Location manager Sue Quinn received the Panavision Project Management Award for arranging the closure of Trafalgar Square, allowing Tom Cruise to fly in on a RAF helicopter for Edge of Tomorrow. Quinn’s previous credits include the Harry Potter franchise, Notting Hill, Billy Elliot and an upcoming feature film remake of 60’s TV series, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

Steve Bristow (right), head of business development, film & TV at accountancy firm Saffery Champness, received the Warner Brothers Studios Leavesden Contribution to the Industry Award. This recognises his work as part of the lobbying efforts that led to the introduction of the UK’s High End TV Tax Relief and changes to the Film Tax Relief.

Producer Steve Clark-Hall was awarded the Creative Skillset Mentor Award for his commitment to aiding the career development of young producers and production crew. Clark-Hall regularly collaborates with director Guy Ritchie; the pair’s recent projects include the Sherlock Holmes films and The Man From U.N.C.L.E with Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur currently in the works.
