Amazon MGM nets Dragonfly production exec

James Mudie joins streamer’s international originals team in business-focused role

Dragonfly TV production executive James Mudie is joining Amazon MGM Studios’ international originals team.

It is understood Mudie will assume the role of senior production executive at the streamer from next week. He will report into Lauren Bacon, head of production and post-, international originals, Amazon MGM Studios.

Bacon works on business and production management side of key tentpoles such as Clarkson’s Farm, working closely with head of Northern Europe and UK originals Tara Erer and Fozia Khan, head of UK unscripted originals, covering the creative.

Mudie has been with Dragonfly since 2019, when he joined as a line producer, before working his way up to his most recent position.

His credits there include Ambulance (BBC1), Paramedics: Britain’s Life Savers (Channel 4) and Teen Mum Academy (E4). He has also worked on reality dating show Date My Mate (Amazon) and on fellow Banijay label Workerbee’s Bear Hunt (Netflix).

Earlier in his career he worked as a production manager with Brook Lapping and Blakeway, which are now owed by Zinc Media. His credits include 9/11: The Day That Changed the World (ITV1), Extreme Brat Camp (ITV1) and Kimberley Walsh: Blue Jean Girl (Sky). He also worked as a line producer with Raw on Heathrow: Britain’s Busiest Airport (ITV1).
