Rob Manning is a London-based film and television composer who has scored high-profile documentary strands, drama, wildlife, hard-hitting factual films, edgy comedies, and commercials. During a decade in the industry he has composed music for various broadcasters including the BBC, Discovery, National Geographic, NBC, SKY, Channel 4, ITV and FIVE.

Credits include Louis Theroux: Miami Mega Jail for the BBC; American Blackout, a feature-length drama for National Geographic; Mystery of the Lost Islands, a five-part wildlife series for Discovery; The Wonderful World of Tony Blair for Channel 4’s Dispatches; Gordon Ramsay’s Great Escape, a seven-part gastronomic journey through India and South East Asia; and the BAFTA-award-winning comedy series Fonejacker.

He worked with acclaimed director Penny Woolcock on her feature-length film On The Streets, which told the stories of a group of homeless people in London and won a Liberty Human Rights award.

Rob Manning was born and raised in London, where he still lives and works. He trained at Brunel University and has a distinction in professional music and has studied music technology and modern ensemble composition. He began his career in television 15 years ago working as a professional sound recordist until switching to full-time composing in 2007.

Rob is a multi-instrumentalist working with an eclectic range of instruments, including guitars, mandolin, piano, accordion, banjo, cello, dulcimer, bass guitar and a nose flute.
