Benedict Cumberbatch to film in London
Benedict Cumberbatch’s next feature, The Current War, begins filming in London on 18 December.
The feature explores the race to equip the US with electricity as Thomas Edison (Cumberbatch) and George Westinghouse (played by Michael Channon) battled to become the first to get their particular types of power supply approved for the masses at the end of the nineteenth century.
Timur Bekmambetov of Bazelevs Production is producing alongside Garret Basch, Steve Zaillian (Film Rites), Basil Iwanyk and The Weinstein Company.
Me and Earl and the Dying Girl helmer Alfonso Gomez-Rejon directs from a screenplay by Michael Mitnick.
