A new drama from Jimmy McGovern based on the racist murder of teenager Anthony Walker is gearing up to film in Liverpool.

Simply called Anthony, the feature-length drama is for BBC One and explores the events surrounding the death of the 18- year-old A-level student from Huyton who was murdered in an unprovoked attack in the summer of 2005.

Regular McGovern collaborator LA Productions is making the drama; the writer has worked with the indie before on titles including Broken, Reg, Common and Moving On.

LA Productions founder Colin McKeown executive produces Anthony.
