UK shoot gets underway on Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey7 with Robert Pattinson
Production gets underway around now in the UK on Mickey7, a major new sci-fi film from director Bong Joon Ho and starring Robert Pattinson.
The film, as yet officially untitled, is based at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden and, as recently reported on Deadline, also numbers Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, Steven Yeun and Naomi Ackie among the cast.
The film is based on the book of the same name by Edward Ashton which centres on an Expendable – a disposable employee - called Mickey7.
Mickey is sent to colonise an ice world, and soon realises that his body can regenerate after death but with his memories are still preserved.
Bong, best known for 2019 feature Parasite, directs from his own screenplay and produces for his banner Offscreen. Other producers are Dooho Choi of Kate Street Pictures and Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner of Brad Pitt’s Plan B.
