Production Finance Market now open

Film London Applications are now open for Film London’s Production Finance Market (PFM), which is set to take place from 12-13 October. Now in its 15th year, this year’s event will once again take place as a fully online edition.

The PFM is an annual, two-day financing event for film held during the BFI London Film Festival. The market connects filmmakers and financiers from across the globe through 1-2-1 meetings as a way to navigate potential business partners and investment.

The main strand accommodates feature film projects, including animation with budgets above €1m, while the New Talent strand targets budgets below €1m. Click here to apply, by 5 July.

Adrian Wootton, chief executive of Film London and the British Film Commission, said: “Every year Film London's Production Finance Market adapts to answer the demands of the industry, with the last year magnifying a multitude of hardships and economic challenges.

“Our virtual 2020 edition sought to keep filmmakers and financiers connected, with online meetings taking place worldwide, and to great success, with project The Ripper's Ghost boarding sales with Reason8 as a result of the Market. This proves not only the sheer determination and perseverance of the industry, but also how these early conversations are instrumental to the production process.

“With demand for content now higher than ever, it is important that we continue to foster a collaborative and diverse environment for those to meet and negotiate future investment opportunities.”

The Market is supported by the Department for International Trade (DIT), the Mayor of London and the BFI London Film Festival. Applications for the PFM close on Monday, 5 July.
