Wycombe Film Studios changes hands; remains open for business
Wycombe Film Studios has changed ownership but has a sound stage and large backlot open for hire
Wycombe Film Studios remains open for business with a new operations team, following a change of ownership.
The studios were previously part of Stage Fifty; the company is currently in administration, with its Winnersh studio now in the hands of liquidators.
Now part of the overall site Wycombe Park, the new team running Wycombe Film Studios has years of combined experience, and were all previously based at Stage Fifty.
The sound stage, open for hire, is around 25,000 sq ft and there is a five-acre hardstanding, backlot available for exterior shooting.
A planning application was recently submitted by agent Nexus Planning to Buckinghamshire Council to erect a data centre on the complex, alongside the studios, on behalf of Wycombe Park Ltd, owned by Luxembourg-based investment firm SCIO Capital.
BBC News quoted architect firm LEAD Studio’s plans: “Due to substantial market demand our client has decided to submit this additional application for data centre use, with the brief of creating potential for an optimised, open, campus-style development.”
