WFTV launches its Fearless Leadership programme

WFTVWomen in Film and Television UK (WFTV) has launched its Fearless Leadership Programme, comprising a cohort of eight senior leaders from across the industry who will take part in a course of masterclasses.

The purpose of the WFTV Fearless Leadership Programme is to empower women to thrive in senior leadership positions by providing training and coaching in leadership skills, tools and techniques and mindset. The masterclasses take place over the next six months, led by professional development coach Tracy Forsyth.

This bespoke programme of group coaching, 1-2-1 coaching and masterclasses is designed to supercharge leadership skills and create an annual cohort of eight female leaders who will be professional sounding boards and confidantes for each other for the rest of their careers.

WFTV CEO Katie Bailiff said: “We are delighted to be expanding WFTV’s professional development arm by adding the leadership course in addition to our long-established mid-career mentoring scheme. We are passionate about arming women with the skills and confidence to thrive in senior roles across the industry.”

Tracy Forsyth added: “I work with many senior leaders across the film and tv industry on a one-to-one basis and I saw the power of creating a group of leaders who are walking the same path and sharing some of the same obstacles to come together in an inclusive, supportive, and safe space to discuss, learn and share best practice.

Leadership is seldom taught, and it can be lonely and full of self-doubt.  But there is a job to be done if we want to change the face of the establishment and we believe this is a fantastic way to do it!”

The candidates on this year’s scheme are:

1. Dee Hendry, former co-founder and COO, Honey Bee Media

2. Clare Cheetham, executive VFX producer, Coffee & TV

3. Emma Parkins, creative director/executive producer, Alley Cats Films
