WFTV launches award for female talent in post-production
WFTV has launched this year’s Elouise Carden Rising Star Award to highlight and nurture female talent in post-production.
As a lack of female representation in the film and TV industry is particularly noticeable in post-production, WFTV is highlighting new female talent in this area.
This year’s award is in partnership with Viacom International Studios.
Nominees are required to have worked in the industry for up to five years and have made a real impact on colleagues and/or clients. The award recognises someone who consistently goes above and beyond the expectations of the role and shows a genuine curiosity and passion for post-production.
The roles eligible for the award are:
• Junior Audio Assistant?
• Junior Facilities Assistant
• Junior Online Editor / Colourist
• Junior Post Producer
• Junior Technician / Machine Room Assistant
• VFX Assistant
• Runner
The winner of this award will receive a £2,000 bursary which can be used for training, professional development and equipment to further their career in post. The nominations will be considered by an industry jury; the winner will be announced at a special event in July.
Nominations will close on Monday 24 April, 2023, 11:00am.
Elouise Carden (d. 2020) was the joint MD and co-owner of Rapid Pictures and Radiant Post Production. Elouise was passionate about nurturing new talent, and in particular women working in post-production. This award is in honour of Elouise and is being launched in partnership with Rapid Pictures and Radiant Post Production.
CEO of WFTV Katie Bailiff said: “We are delighted once again to be honouring Elouise Carden with this post production award which recognises new talent – a subject very close to Elouise’s heart. By spotlighting women at this early stage in their career we hope to encourage more women into the post- production pipeline.”
