Vertigo To Release Movie Will On Oct. 21
Distribution outfit Vertigo has secured rights to feature film Will, starring Damian Lewis and Bob Hoskins, and will release it on October 21.
The film is about an eleven-year-old boy whose life is transformed when his absentee father (Damian Lewis) suddenly reappears with tickets to the 2005 Champions League Final in Istanbul, between Liverpool FC and AC Milan.
As a result, Will runs away to Istanbul for the biggest soccer match of the year, “searching for meaning in a world that seems to have abandoned him”.
The film, which features cameos by Liverpool Football Club manager Kenny Dalglish, and footballers Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard, is a co-pro between Istanbul-based GalataFilm and LA/UK-based Strangelove Films. It was written by Zack Anderson and Ellen Perry who also directs (in her feature debut).
Chief Executive of GalataFilm, Taha Altayli, said, “We”re excited to be working with Vertigo which had two Oscar nominated films last year. We know Vertigo”s expertise will find the audience and acclaim that this family film deserves.”
