US remake of Friday Night Dinner to film in the UK

Amazon Freevee has commissioned a US remake of Friday Night Dinner, called Dinner with the Parents, to be delivered as a straight-to-series, 10-episode run. The comedy will be made in the UK.
Big Talk Productions is making the comedy with CBS Studios; the series is written by Jon Beckerman, best known for his work on The Late Show.
Tristram Shapeero directs and also exec produces alongside Kenton Allen, Mathew Justice, Beckerman, Robert Popper (creator of the original) and Caroline Leddy.
Tamsin Greig, Paul Ritter, Simon Bird and Tom Rosenthal starred in the Big Talk/Channel 4 comedy that ran for ten years from 2011; it came to an end after the sixth series, and following Ritter”s death in 2021. It centred on two brothers in their 20s who return to the middle-class Jewish family home every Friday for the traditional evening meal.
Big Talk is also busy on a new drama based on legendary highwayman Dick Turpin, for Apple TV+, starring Noel Fielding, and has recently enjoyed accolades for its two-series run of The Outlaws from Stephen Merchant.
