CTVC will see Clark set out to meet the new Pope

The Traitors star Harry Clark is to front a BBC1 religion doc, travelling to Rome on a quest to meet Pope Leo XIV.

CTVC is behind the 1 x 60-minute film Harry Clark Goes to Rome (w/t) as he embarks on the journey to seek answers about his faith and ask what it means to be a “good” Catholic today. While seeking out a meeting with the Pope via social media, he will also open up to his family and friends including his mum, Georgia – who will go with him to Rome.

Clark, who has previously appeared in Pilgrimage: The Road to the Alps, said: “Faith has shaped who I am from a young age, so being able to travel to Rome with the BBC is something I never imagined possible. This feels like a once-in-a-lifetime journey, and I’m excited to share this news and every step of my epic adventure. I’m praying that it may even lead to meeting Pope Leo.”

Set to air around Easter, the doc was commissioned by head of specialist factual Jack Bootle, with commissioning editor Daisy Scalchi. It is directed by Jonny Ashton and is executive produced by Karen Emsley and chief executive of CTVC Caroline Matthews.

Scalchi said: “Harry brings a fresh, funny and very personal perspective to the conversation about faith. Audiences are in for some hilarious moments and jaw-dropping surprises along the way”

Emsley added: “This film captures an incredibly personal and powerful journey – not just to Rome, but deep into faith, family and identity. Harry’s warmth, honesty and remarkable determination mean you find yourself rooting for him right to the very end.”
