Trainspotting 2 eyes late spring shoot
Danny Boyle”s follow-up to the seminal Trainspotting is gathering pace nicely, with a late spring shoot on the cards.
Currently untitled, the film revisits the now iconic four main characters twenty years after the original black comedy crime drama, which was released in 1996. Renton, Sick Boy, Spud and Begbie became popular anti-heroes as they made their way through a disenfranchised, heroin-addled life in a depressed part of Edinburgh in the 1980s.
The four main cast members are all expected to return. Also back on board is screenwriter John Hodge, who won an Oscar nod for his adapted screenplay of the original.
Director Boyle also produces, alongside Andrew Macdonald and Christian Colson; the line producer and likely start date is on Production Intelligence.
We will be updating with casting director and other crucial hires in January, so make sure you”re following the project to get email alerts as pre-production draws nearer.
