Tom Cruise readies for Mission: Impossible 5
Principal photography starts here in the UK in late summer on Mission: Impossible 5, the latest in the line of high-octane thrillers starring Tom Cruise.
It seems like only yesterday that Cruise was in London, borrowing Trafalgar Square for an incredible action sequence for Edge of Tomorrow, which was filmed nearly two years ago in the UK.
As with that feature, Mission: Impossible 5 (MI5) will headquarter at the soon-to-be-expanded Warner Bros. Leavesden, with director Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher) calling the shots from a screenplay by Drew Pearce. As with previous MI5 films, Cruise has a producer credit, this time working alongside David Ellison and Star Wars: Episode VII head honcho J.J Abrams.
Mission: impossible 5 is just the latest in this year’s crop of Hollywood blockbusters filming in the UK, joining the likes of Tarzan, Pan and Through the Looking Glass , all no doubt drawn by the attractive tax reliefs and huge pool of talented crew.
