MTV UK has greenlit a Cardiff-based reality TV series from indie producer True North. ‘The Valleys” (6 x 60 mins) will be similar to MTV UK”s only other origination ‘Geordie Shore”, itself based on the US MTV”s ‘Jersey Shore”.

True North will begin production this spring, for transmission later in the year. Kerry Taylor, senior VP, director of television at MTV Networks UK and Ireland, said the series “will authentically look at the challenges that young adults have to face to get ahead.” MTV UK is also lining a third season of ‘Geordie Shore” for summer.
