The Mummy begins filming next week

Principal photography on The Mummy begins on Monday 4 April, with locations including the UK and Malta.

Tom Cruise stars in Universal”s reboot of the horror classic, alongside Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Marwan Kenzari and Sofia Boutella as the Mummy.

The release date for the feature has been pushed back to March 2017, with Cruise”s relatively late attachment reportedly affecting scheduling. We first confirmed the UK involvement back in October, when we also listed the studio along with details of several major HoD hires on our subscription site, Production Intelligence.

Screenwriter and producer Alex Kurtzman makes his directorial debut on The Mummy, calling the shots from Jon Spaihts” screenplay. Producers include Kurtzman, Sean Daniel and Roberto Orci. The project will also shoot in Malta which will double for Iraq, where the story is set.

PI currently has listings for nearly 150 films and TV projects in pre-production; for a free demo, click here.
