Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has revealed he plans to open a studio in Los Angeles.

Talking to the BBC from LA, the showrunner said he wanted to highlight the work of filmmakers and creatives from the West Midlands, saying: “I’m going to open a Digbeth Loc Studio here where people can go and look at what we’re doing. See pictures, decks and video of what’s happening, so people in LA can experience what we’re doing at Digbeth.”

Knight has been the driving force behind Digbeth Loc. Studio in Digbeth, a growing creative hub in Birmingham. The studio is currently housing the film version of Peaky Blinders, which will also shoot on location across the Midlands; Barry Keoghan was confirmed recently as the latest cast member to join the Netflix feature.

Knight told the BBC: “We will be shooting at Digbeth Loc and we found some unbelievably good locations around Birmingham and West Midlands. We will be at the Black Country Living Museum again there will be locations around the country as well.

“We’re all very excited – this will be the end of the first chapter of Peaky Blinders.”
