The Glucose Goddess (w/t) is fronted by French biochemist and author Jessie Inchauspé.

Currently in pre-production at South Shore, the series will test the science of glucose by exploring if contributors feel better by monitoring and managing their blood sugar levels – controlling their glucose spikes.

Inchauspé has more than 4.5m followers online with two bestselling books that aim to provide tips to help people improve their physical and mental health.

The author/presenter said: “It’s a huge honour to be making this series with South Shore and Channel 4. I hope our viewers take away practical food tips, learn that many conditions improve with better diet, and that the show will contribute to pushing for change in the food industry.”

The 2 x 60 special is a South Shore format, executive produced by Melanie Leach, joint CEO of South Shore and Sam Grace, head of South Shore Wales. The series has been commissioned for Channel 4 by Clemency Green, senior commissioning editor for Lifestyle, and Jo Street, head of lifestyle.

Green added: “Jessie is brilliant at debunking the jargon and clearly explaining the facts behind the fad. I am delighted to be working with her and South Shore to make a show that can help us all make better choices when choosing what to eat”.
