Seven Dials producer launches scripted indie

Joanna Crow’s Panache Pictures to be housed in Bristol’s Bottle Yard

The series producer of Netflix’s Agatha Christie series Seven Dials Joanna Crow has established a Bristol-based scripted indie.

Panache Pictures, which was official incorporated last year, is the 18th business to join The Bottle Yard Studios’ creative hub.

Crow’s recent producer credits also include BBC1 thriller Chloe, which filmed at Bottle Yard, as well as Rapman’s Netflix series Supacell.

The indie’s head of production is Ian Hogan, who has worked as a producer on Black Mirror (Netflix), Downton Abbey (ITV/Masterpiece), Sanditon (ITV/Masterpiece), Boarders (BBC3) and The Pursuit of Love (BBC1).

The development producer is local talent Gemma Wright, who spent over two years assisting Stephen Merchant on BBC1 and Amazon Studios’ comedy drama The Outlaws, and has since produced on BBC1’s Waterloo Road.

Crow said: “Panache is thrilled to be joining the creative community at The Bottle Yard Studios at an exciting time of opportunity for the region.

“We love filming at the Studios with its amazing support, facilities and excellent local talent available across the South West.

“Having witnessed their supportive infrastructure first hand, moving in was the logical next step.”

The Bottle Yard’s head of studios Katherine Nash added: “Joanna, Ian and Gemma are well known to us given the array of titles they have made at the Studios over past years.

“With their combined expertise, in-depth understanding of scripted production in the region, and proven commitment to working sustainably and widening skills pathways for local entrants, we’re excited for what the future holds.”
