The third and final series of Red Planet Pictures’ Sanditon filmed in various locations in and around Bristol last year, with support from Bristol Film Office. 

All three runs of the period drama have filmed in the region, with sets built at the Bottle Yard Studios for Series One. For the subsequent two seasons, sets were moved to the Brabazon Hangars, formerly known as Filton Airfield, the home of Brabazon airliner and supersonic Concorde, and the future home of YTL Arena. 

All series utilised several coastal locales, including Brean Beach, Weston Super Mare, Clevedon and Middle Hope Cove in Somerset. 

For Series Three, Bristol Film Office assisted filming at the city’s Georgian House Museum which doubled as the location for the London home of investor Tom Parker (Kris Marshall).

“We chose Bristol’s Georgian House for the Parkers’ London home because it was a truly authentic location and a remarkable place that felt exactly like stepping back in time…the real deal!”

Other filming locations used for series three include Neston Park in Wiltshire, Sessions House in Usk (Monmouthshire)  and St Mary’s Church between Chippenham and Stroud.

Sanditon is inspired by Jane Austen’s original, unfinished, 11-chapter fragment, adapted and created by Andrew Davies and produced by Red Planet Pictures. 

Justin Young became lead writer and executive producer for Series 2 and 3. The series producer on S3 is Rebecca Hedderly, the producers are Ian Hogan and Amy Rodriguez and the directors are Jennie Paddon and Steve Brett.
