Salford Dreams United in production

Three-part documentary series, Salford Dreams United, is currently in production after being commissioned by the BBC.

The doc will follow Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Gary and Phil Neville, as they take on neighbourhood club Salford City F.C. The team are currently mid-placed in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, eight divisions below the Barclays premier league and have an average crowd of just 150 people.

BBC One controller Charlotte Moore said: “It’s a real coup to give BBC One viewers such extraordinary access through this new documentary series that will follow the story of these famous ex-Manchester United players and football heroes.”

Between them the five renowned footballers will get involved with every aspect of the club, from doubling the grass-seed budget to turning up to team training sessions. With the group’s goal to propel Salford to the big leagues, we’re set to see if they have bitten off more than they can chew.
