Rosamund Pike, Sacha Baron Cohen film Ladies First in UK for Netflix
Netflix has increased its production presence in the UK, as it has taken up residence at the newly-expanded Shepperton Studios
Filming is underway in the UK on romantic comedy Ladies First, for Netflix, with the production base at Shepperton Studios. Shooting will run until January.
Rosamund Pike and Sacha Baron Cohen star in the film, based on Eleonore Pourriat’s Je Ne Suis Pas Un Homme Facile. The Netflix logline reads: “A womanizer gets a real wakeup call when he finds himself in a world dominated by women – a fiery female counterpart makes things far more complicated.”
Brit director Thea Sharrock is calling the shots from a screenplay by Katie Silberman, Natalie Krinsky and Cinco Paul. The producers are Liza Chasin for 3dot Productions, Eleonore Dailly, Edouard de Lachomette, and Four By Two Films; Chasin has a creative partnership with Netflix under her prodco 3dot Productions.
Deadline recently reported that Richard E. Grant, Emily Mortimer, Charles Dance, Fiona Shaw, Tom Davis and Weruche Opia are among the supporting cast.
Netflix has a growing production presence in the UK, as it now has a dedicated hub at the recently-expanded Shepperton Studios, where it shares 17 new sound stages with Amazon MGM.
