The crew of Red Dwarf is edging closer to a small screen return, with preproduction on a shiny new series now underway at Shepperton.

This will be the tenth outing for the spacebound adventurers, comprising the hapless Rimmer, Lister, Kryten and Cat, and Holly, the ship”s computer. 

Originally created by Rob Grant and Doug Naylor, and based on a radio sketch show, the long running sci-fi comedy swiftly gained a cult following on BBC2, and has since spawned novels, tie-in books and magazines.

The six new half hour episodes are once again from Grant Naylor Productions, for transmission on Dave; marking the second time the digital channel has commissioned the show.
