ReConnect opens for applications, for those returning to the TV industry

ReConnectReConnect, a new scheme from the TV Foundation, has opened for applications for people who have been away from the TV industry, offering the chance to reignite their careers and refresh their networks, starting with a free pass to the Edinburgh TV Festival.

The main ReConnect programme takes place at the Edinburgh TV Festival from 22-25 August; applicants  will need to be in Edinburgh and clear from work across those dates to take part.

The festival pass and accommodation would be provided for free; successful applicants would have to fund their own travel to and from the event, although bursaries are available for those in receipt of benefits.

You will also be paired with a senior industry figure to help guide you through the festival experience. After the festival, you will have five meetings with industry figures who can offer advice on your professional goals.

To be eligible for ReConnect you must have previously worked in the television industry for at least five years in any off-camera roles and been away from TV for at least eighteen months for any reason. There is no upper age or experience limit.

Applications for ReConnect 2023 are now open and will close on Monday, 19 June at 10am.

The application form is available here and is made up of three sections: personal information (including a CV), application questions, and monitoring information. You can choose to submit your answers to the application questions as either a written, audio or video response.

After the online application, successful candidates will be invited to interview with one member of the TV Foundation team and an industry expert. These will take place via Zoom on 29 June.
