Production has begun at Pinewood Studios on Prometheus, a science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott. It is the fifth time that Scott has shot at the studios; previous projects including Alien, Legend, White Squall and Robin Hood.

Commenting on the decision to return to Pinewood, Scott said: “It’;s my personal heritage, I film everywhere in the world and I think all things considered what we have to offer here is as good as anything you get in Hollywood.”

Andrew M. Smith, group director corporate affairs for Pinewood Studios commented:  “We are thrilled to welcome back Ridley Scott. It’;s a testament to the UK’;s crews as well as the expertise of hundreds of media companies based on site, that these films continue to choose Pinewood to film.”

Prometheus re-teams Scott with long-time collaborators, including Academy Award-winning costume designer Janty Yates (Gladiator, Robin Hood), set decorator Sonja Klaus (Robin Hood, Kingdom of Heaven), production designer Arthur Max (Robin Hood, American Gangster), and Academy Award-winning editor Pietro Scalia (Black Hawk Down, Gladiator).
