Production Guild Awards honour film and TV talent

The Production Guild Awards recognise the considerable talent of those behind the scenes in the UK film and TV industry, currently enjoying a purple patch with studios bulging and crew booked up for months in advance.

Here at The Knowledge we are very excited to be sponsoring the 2014 Awards, which take place on 27th September at The Grove in Hertfordshire and which mark the 15th anniversary of the organisation.

The awards, in association with Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, give a nod to a range of production management fields, including assistant directing, production office and post-production.

Four individuals are recognised for their exceptional work in film and TV production.

Location manager Sue Quinn (below, left) receives the Panavision Project Management Award, in particular for her work on Edge of Tomorrow – which involved her arranging the closure of Trafalgar Square. Her other recent credits include the new Tarzan film currently in production in the UK.

Godwin has swiftly gone from production co-ordinator to production supervisor on Muppets Most Wanted and Into the Woods. 2014 has seen her on board Avengers: Age of Ultron and the forthcoming Bond 24.

Producer Steve Clark-Hall (above) will receive the Creative Skillset Mentor Award for his commitment to assisting the career development of young producers and production crew. Clark-Hall’s experience is lengthy with features such as Sherlock Holmes films and The Man From U.N.C.L.E among his credits. He will be working again with regular collaborator Guy Ritchie on the forthcoming Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur.

For outstanding contribution to the development and sustainability of the UK film and TV industry, Stephen Bristow will be the recipient of the Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden Contribution to the Industry Award. Bristow has been instrumental in the lobbying process which resulted in the high end tax relief – widely acknowledged as a crucial factor in the current healthy state of the industry.
