Poldark 3 gears up
Busy independent production company Mammoth Screen is currently working on several projects, including a third series of Poldark.
Poldark 3 has been greenlit before Series 2 has aired, which is unusual even for a returning drama.
The show has been a hit for Mammoth Screen and BBC One with almost 9.5m viewers for the first series. Debbie Horsfield returns as the pen behind the show, which is based on Winston Graham”s novels.
Production Intelligence subscribers can log in for details on the new run, including the shoot dates and the names of the line producer, production co-ordinator, location managers and production designer. The producers are Roopesh Parekh and Michael Ray; Stephen Woolfenden and Josh Agnew direct.
Mammoth Screen is also busy on Endeavour Series 4 at the moment, which began a lengthy shoot in late May. And the company is gearing up to shoot Agatha Christie”s Witness for the Prosecution later this summer in Liverpool, which Sarah Phelps has adapted as a 2 x 60 for BBC One to air at Christmas.
Filming also recently finished on NW, Mammoth Screen and Rachel Bennette’s adaptation of Zadie Smith’s London-set novel starring Nikki Amuka-Bird and Phoebe Fox which will be delivered to BBC Two as a feature length single drama.
