Lloyd joins from ITV where she has been a fact-ent commissioner for eight years.

Nicola Lloyd has been appointed creative director at Fremantle label Naked, producers of The Apprentice.

Lloyd’s remit includes supercharging the development slate and overseeing new projects, while originating and developing her own ideas.

The appointment marks Lloyd’s return to production after eight years as a factual entertainment commissioner at ITV. During her time there, she managed a slate of programming including the Gordon, Gino and Fred brand; five seasons of the travelogue Bradley and Barney: Breaking Dad; and the reimagined entertainment format, The Games.

She also oversaw many documentaries, including Planet Child; Gino’s Italy and Inside the Ritz, and was responsible for several projects on ITVX including TikTok: Murder Gone Viral; The British Airways Killer; The Other Mrs Jordan; and exposé, Belle Gibson: Instagram’s Worst Con Artist.

She said of her new role: “I am thrilled to be joining Naked as Creative Director and to work alongside such a talented team. Naked has an impressive slate and a strong reputation for creating bold, distinctive content. With my passion for unscripted programming, I’m looking forward to getting back into production and contributing to this next exciting chapter”

Tom O’Brien, MD at Naked, added: “Nicola is an exceptional creative talent – a stock-picker and builder of big, original and eye-catching ideas. Naked will benefit hugely from her experience, wisdom and drive to entertain our audiences, as she works closely alongside the senior team here.”
