The film reunites the director and writer of Netflix drama Adolescence

Filming gets underway today, 10 April, on the third Enola Holmes feature, starring and produced by Millie Bobby Brown.

Shooting will be based at a major UK studio before moving to Malta for the last few weeks of filming.

Adolescence director Philip Barantini will reunite with that show’s co-writer Jack Thorne on the Netflix film. The producers are Ali Mendes, Mary Parent and Alex Garcia for Legendary Entertainment; Millie Bobby Brown and Robert Brown produce for their banner PCMA. Isobel Richards and Jake Bongiovi exec produce.

Little has been revealed about the plot of the third feature, but there has been speculation that Himesh Patel will reprise his role of Watson, introduced in the second feature.

Set in Victorian England, the first film was shot in the UK in 2019, and the same director, Harry Bradbeer, then helmed the sequel two years later. Thorne has written all three features, adapted from Nancy Springer’s The Enola Holmes Mysteries series of books.
