London shoot begins on Riz Ahmed series for Prime Video
Ahmed is showrunning through his production company, Left Handed Films.
Cameras started rolling this week (w/c 12 August) in London on Left Handed Films’ and Amazon MGM Studios’ Untitled Riz Ahmed comedy.
The series follows Shah Latif, a struggling actor on the cusp of landing the role of a lifetime, who finds himself thrust into a full-blown existential crisis and trippy conspiracy thriller at the same time.
Ahmed writes, produces and stars in the comedy, as part of Left Handed’s first-look deal with Amazon MGM Studios. The show is executive produced by Ahmed and Allie Moore for Left Handed, and Jake Fuller on behalf of Jax Media. Ben Karlin also execs and is showrunning with Ahmed, with Roopesh Parekh also serving as an executive producer.
At the time of the commissioning news, Riz Ahmed stated: “I’ve wanted to tell this story for a long time. It’s personal, bold, and a lot of fun. It feels so good to be writing and creating it now with this incredible team”.
Filming is taking place in various locations around London.
