Fellowes” next TV drama in pre-prod
Downton Abbey supremo Julian Fellowes’ latest TV work, Doctor Thorne, is currently in pre-production with cameras to begin rolling in early September.  ÂÂ
The small screen 3 x 60 adaptation of Anthony Trollope’s 19th century novel comes from Hat Trick Productions for ITV.
Subscribers to Production Intelligence will know that we now have comprehensive details on the drama, including shoot dates, producer, director, casting director, location manager, line producer, production co-ordinator and production designer.
Doctor Thorne was first published in 1868, the third in the series known as the Chronicles of Barsetshire (more recently known as the Barchester Chronicles). The story centres on the romance between the poor Mary Thorne and wealthy local aristocrat Frank Gresham.
Fellowes also has to attend to another hefty period drama, this time set in New York. The Gilded Age is set in the late 19th century, and delves behind the scenes of some of the city’s most well-connected society families.
Production Intelligence currently has listings for 19 UK-based TV dramas in pre-production, including ITV’s major new adaptation of Gerald Durrell’s Corfu trilogy memoirs and the second series of Happy Valley. ÂÂ
