Prime Video has ordered an original drama from hit-writers Harlan Coben and Danny Brocklehurst, to be produced by Quay Street Productions

Lazarus (w/t) is a psychological mystery series about a man who returns home after his father’s suicide only to have unsettling, unexplained experiences.

He soon gets embroiled in a series of cold-case murders as he wrestles with the circumstances surrounding his father’s death and his sister’s murder 25 years previously.

The starry cast is led by Sam Claflin (who also exec produces), Bill Nighy and Alexandra Roach. Coben and Brocklehurst also exec produce alongside Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee for Quay Street. Wayne Che Yip will direct episodes one and two and will also serve as executive producer. Matt Strevens produces.

The series is produced by Quay Street Productions and Amazon MGM Studios in association with Final Twist Productions.

“Do I have to say more than the names Sam Claflin, Bill Nighy, and Alexandra Roach to express my excitement about this limited series? Lazarus is a story of loss, redemption — and the eternal bond between a parent and a child, even after death,” said Coben (pictured above). “It is never anything less than a thrill to team up again with Danny Brocklehurst and Quay Street Productions.”

Brocklehurst added: “Lazarus is a psychological thriller with an emotional spine. It’s about fathers and sons, love and loss. We have attempted to bring our trademark wit and warmth as well as twists galore. This is the first collaboration the team at Quay Street, Harlan and myself have done with Amazon and we are delighted to be partnering with them.”

Coben has a deal with Netflix to adapt his novels; Lazarus is an original series.
