Goodbye Christopher Robin readies to film
Domhnall Gleeson, Margot Robbie and Kelly Macdonald are preparing to star in Goodbye Christopher Robin, about the children”s author AA Milne.
The feature comes from Fox Searchlight and prolific producer Damian Jones, whose recent credits include Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie and Dad”s Army.
Jones is working alongside Steve Christian and Simon Vaughan, with Simon Curtis directing from a screenplay by Vaughan and Frank Cottrell Boyce.
The film focuses on the relationship between the author and his son Christopher Robin, whose toys were said to be the inspiration for the much-loved classic characters of the Hundred Acre Wood including Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Owl, Tigger et al.
Gleeson plays AA Milne with Robbie as his wife Daphne. Macdonald will portray Christopher”s nanny, Olive.
The eight-week shoot begins in early September and will use locations including London and East Sussex, home to Ashdown Forest, the real-life Hundred Acre Wood near Milne”s home in Hartfield.
