Filming is underway at Shinfield Studios on Greenland: Migration, starring Gerard Butler.

The feature is a sequel to the 2020 movie Greenland, in which Butler and Morena Baccarin played John and Allison Garrity who, along with their diabetic son, are desperate to find safety as a comet threatens to destroy Earth.

The director of the original, Ric Roman Waugh, returns to helm the sequel, calling the shots from a screenplay by the first film’s screenwriter, Chris Sparling, who has penned the film alongside Mitchell Lafortune.

Filming takes place in the UK for six weeks, with the production based at the huge Shinfield Studios near Reading, and Iceland for two weeks, with Baccarin also back to co-star. The sequel is set after the planet has been hit by the comet, with the family leaving the Greenland bunker to make a dangerous journey across Europe to find shelter and a new life.

Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee of Thunder Road Pictures are producing with Brendon Boyea, Sébastien Raybaud, John Zois, Alan Siegel and Butler.
