Since opening in 2021, the studio has hosted around 85 productions and 120 virtual production projects

London’s Garden Studios has expanded with the imminent opening of four new sound stages, bringing the total to eight.

The new development means that Garden Studios is now the largest campus in central London, with 98,000 sq ft of stages; 90,000 sq ft of warehouse; 40,000 sq ft of production offices and two large unit base lots over 30,000 sq ft each.

The facility opened four years ago and has since hosted more than 85 productions of varying sizes and budgets, from limited set builds for large-scale productions such as Argylle and Wonka, to hosting the production team and sets for Amazon’s My Lady Jane, We Live in Time from Canal+, and ITV’s relaunch of Big Brother.

Garden has also hosted 120 virtual production (VP) shoots; it is the only sound stage campus in London with a standing permanent LED wall – recently increased in size to 20m wide and 5m tall.

Its new sound stages – Rose (15,207 sq ft), Orchid 1 (15,026 sq ft), Orchid 2 (12,863 sq ft), and Orchid 3 (7,187 sq ft) – will enable the studios to house several HETV projects and indie films at the same time.

The Rose Campus officially starts operating from March 2025; it has two galleries suitable for entertainment shows. Orchid stages will host a high-end TV drama from late summer through 2026.

Bee Devine, Garden Studios’ chief operating officer, said of the news: “Garden’s growth in the last six months alone has attracted new clients seeking versality, flexibility and high degrees of client service.

“Not to mention, our commitment to sustainability for ourselves and all clients, as well as the permanent VP stage that helps to simplify complex location shoots, reduce risk, and offers production innovation.”
