Channel 4 has commissioned Jasmine’s Renovation In The Sun, a spin-off from the long-running A Place In The Sun.

Freeform Productions is making the new, 15-part series, filmed over one year, that will follow presenter Jasmine Harman and her family as they move abroad, purchasing and renovating a run-down Spanish villa. The show will follow them as they master new DIY skills and navigate local bureaucracy.

Harman said: “Moving abroad has been completely different to what I expected and dreamed of. I never wanted to take on a renovation project but somehow, we fell in love with this house. I’ve seen it so many times with my own house hunters – sometimes it just feels right

“Moving house can be stressful at the best of times. But, changing country renovating a property, raising our family – all the while having a TV crew following you around, is next level! All the same, we feel like this is the best move for our family and we’re so excited to get started.”

Michelle Heeley, executive producer for Freeform Productions, said: “Like so many of our House Hunters over the years who have made the move, Jasmine is now doing this for herself. Being able to follow her journey and the highs and lows along the way will be an entertaining watch.”

Channel 4’s director of commissioning, nations and regions, Jo Street added, “A Place In The Sun has followed the dreams of hundreds of Brits since it launched on Channel 4 in 2000. We are delighted to be following Jasmine’s own journey in this brand new spin off series from Freeform Productions”.
